Yes she taught school but she also taught us to reach great heights, to answer the phone properly, to respect our parents…. I could go on and on. When our parents would “go out” (travel south) I got to stay with her…. What fun. She was my friend and I will miss here laughter, her voice, her red nails and how she wore her hair….. Her voice

Joyce was our junior high teacher of Math and English in the early 1960’s at Yellowknife Junior High School. She was a great and strict teacher who cared about all of her students. As well, she flew small one-engine airplanes for Ptarmigan Airways and was the secretary for Ptarmigan Airways for a short time. Joyce had a great laugh and was an animal lover. She was a brave, fearless northerner. RIP, Joyce.

She was also a great Aviator owning her own little airplane CF-HJD…what a Great Lady who will never be forgotten ❤️
