It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Dumo at the age of 95 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her Son, Allan (Colleen) Murray, as well as extended family and friends.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Samuel, grandson Greg, sister Phoebe and brother Seymour.
Marjorie was born in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan in 1921. She moved to Edmonton in 1943 and worked there until 1945 when she moved to the Wetaskiwin area. Here she met Melville Murray. They were married in 1946. They had one son, Allan Murray who still resides in the area. After her husband died in 1965 she continued to live on the farm.
During her working life she was a waitress and cook at various businesses in the area. She was also employed as a mobile home plant worker and as an assembler in a cabinet maker’s shop. Cabinet making was one thing she thoroughly enjoyed, working there for many years.
Her second marriage was to Arvid Lindskog, a carpenter and farm building contractor. They were divorced after a few years.
Upon retiring, she concentrated on gardening and cookbook collecting. She has several hundred cookbooks in her collection. Her son came back home to operate the farm again. She married Samuel Dumo and enjoyed several more years of farm life with him until his untimely death in 1994. She continued to enjoy life on her own until her recent illness.
