DUBLANKO, Aletha May


It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Aletha Dublanko.  Aletha passed away quietly with her family around her at Salem Manor in Leduc, AB on September 19, 2017.

Aletha was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was very loyal, humble, committed and always loved unconditionally.  She had a strong, quiet faith and her door was always open with a warm, loving embrace waiting for you.  Love you, Mum.

Aletha will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alex of 64 years; her children Brian (Teresa) Dublanko, Donna Strachan, Gary (Dea) Dublanko, Arnie (Michele) Dublanko, Shirley (Jim) Solkowski and Gordie Dublanko; as well as her numerous grandchildren Steve and Curtis, Jody, Kyla, Tanya, and Darcy, Christian and Braedan, Matt and Meg; great-grandchildren Taelynn and Rylan, Cade, Morgan and Teague, Kenzie, Oliver and Ethan, Frankie and baby on the way; brothers Ric, Ray, Terry, Dave; sisters Lorraine, Joan, Lynn, Jean and Cathy; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Aletha was predeceased by her Mum Edith Karran; father Garnett Houston; step-Mum Annie Delila; brother Sonny (Ronald Grant); sister Darlene Anne; sister Linda Marlene; brother John Albert; sister Eunice Kellert; sister Irene Missel; brother Ronald Eugene.

A Funeral and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Church, 10409 – 100 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, AB with a reception to follow at the Legion (Normandy Room), 9964 – 93 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #144, 5241 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 5G8.
