Douglas Thompson Brown

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, peacefully at his home following a long, well lived life.

Doug leaves behind his 3 sons – Ronald, Leonard and Robert and joins his son Christopher (deceased).  His 3 daughters-in-law – Susan, Carol and Dawn.  His 9 grandchildren – Ashley, David, Ryan, Daena, Chris, Alex, Miles, Maya and Faye and his 3 great-grandchildren Kieren, Cohin and Roman.

Born and raised in Regina, Doug married (January 26, 1957) his dear wife Lois (deceased) and moved to Edmonton to work and raise their 4 boys.  Doug was a “larger than life” person and had many, many dear friends of all ages throughout his life.  We will all miss his “snappy patter”, his passion for planes, cars, ships and puzzles, his self-effacing manner, his courage, determination and his friendship.

A gathering will be held on September 22, 2018 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 12:30 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at The Bend Lounge in Riverbend, 14743 40 Ave NW, Edmonton, from 2 – 5 p.m.

Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross,

Canadian Red Cross, P.O. Box 39, Saint John, NB, E2L 3X3,

We are sad to hear of Doug’s passing and will surely miss his annual humor. You don’t need a helicopter now, Doug. You have your own angel wings. Blessings to all the family.

Crawford Family

Doug – a big man with a heart and sense of humour to match. He was such a special and unique man and the very traits that held him dear in our hearts were instilled in each of you. Because of this his legacy lives on. We will forever feel honoured to have known such a man of integrity and perseverance and be thankful for having the adventures and great times with “the Browns”.
I know that he was greeted with a big “To the Vikings” when he joined his buddies DJ and Hank.
Mom is hoping maybe now he can send her some really good tips on hot stocks!
Sorry we’re unable to be there for the celebration. Love to you all.
