Dorr, LeRoy Martin

With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, papa and friend.

Born in Lethbridge, AB LeRoy was raised in Stavely, AB and joined the military as a young man. He, and his wife of 61 years, Audrey, welcomed their first daughter, Colleen, in Edmonton, AB. They were later posted to Germany where their second daughter, Carolyn, joined the family. Upon return to Canada, he retired from the Canadian Military and began a career working for the Department of Highways in British Columbia. He was an avid curler and loved camping with his wife and daughters. Upon his retirement, LeRoy and Audrey built a cabin at Baynes Lake, B.C. where they spent 13 years as neighbors to their fondest friends Jack and Charmaine and their children Terri and Kurt. In 2012, they made their home in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. to be closer to their children. They were quickly at home and making fast friends at the local coffee club where they spent many mornings solving the problems of the world.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Audrey, his daughters; Colleen (Andrew) and Carolyn (Todd), grandchildren; Genevieve (Trent), Logan, Julie (Mitchell) and great grandchildren; Hannah, Isaac, Emily and Avery.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister Ruth (Bill) and grandson Nicholas.

The family would like to express gratitude to doctors, nurses and all staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for their kindness, support and care shown to LeRoy and his family during his stay.

At LeRoy’s request there will not be a funeral. Instead, if you choose, please make a donation in LeRoy’s name directly to a charity of your choice.
