With much sadness and love, our family announces the passing of our mother, Dorothy Ross, on September 28, 2017 at the age of 102.
Dorothy will be forever remembered by her daughter Linda Weekley (husband Ken and their daughter Karin), Patricia Ross (husband Ron Kujala) and her brother Harry Dickinson.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Ross, her sister June Lesley and her parents Keitha and John Henry Dickinson.
Dorothy’s many admirable accomplishments in her life included: graduating with a university degree in home economics, establishing her own business as one of the first caterers in Calgary, raising her two daughters after the early death of her husband Tom, teaching at the University of Alberta, running a restaurant with her good friend Eleanor Cairns, learning to use a computer when she was in her 80s and living in her own house until she was 100.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Lewis Estates Retirement Residence and Norwood Capital Care for their kindness, care and support shown to Dorothy these past two years.
There will be no service by request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, Alberta, N.W.T and Nunavut.
