Doris Gwendolyn Armson

-

Doris Gwendolyn Baragar was born on a farm near Bateman, Saskatchewan on July 14,1928. She and her two brothers, Donald and Delbert, were triplets to Ruben and Elizabeth Baragar. Later Harold joined the family. Doris was educated at Bateman School. In 1947 she married Alvin Armson, they started their life together on a farm North of Bateman in the Wiwa Hill District. To this union, their son, Ross was born. Doris added interest to the daily demands of a farm wife by playing the organ for the United Church Choir, teaching piano lessons, decorating cakes and curling during the winters. Doris and Alvin retired to Gravelbourg in the fall of 1983. She and Alvin made many friends through the bowling leagues they joined. Doris also spent many hours in her custom made craft room. Her greatest joy was her 4 grandchildren and later, her 12 great-grandchildren. In 2008, Doris moved to Wetaskiwin to be near her family and watch the great-grandchildren grow up.

Doris passed away peacefully at the Wetaskiwin Hospital on January 27, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Linda Armson; Grandchildren, Maureen and John Borges, Melaine and Chris Babbitt, Greg and Nicole Armson and Grant and Rosalee Armson; Great-Grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Melaya, Micah, Levi, Lacey, Rylan, Matthew, Denver, Dylan, Haydn and Brody; Brother Harlod (Donna) Baragar.
