Donna Rae Woodford

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Donna, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on September 23rd, 2019.

She left us while sleeping peacefully in the Norwood Nursing Home. She was in her 65th year.

Born in Chatham , New Brunswick she had travelled through Canada living in many places before settling in Edmonton Alberta in 1982.

She was the beloved mother of David (Joanne) and Julie (Darko), proud grandmother of London, Levana, Marcus, and Mason.

Predeceased by her mother Lilian and father Gordon.

She will be missed by her sisters Laura (Bob), Susan (Ken), and brothers Jerry (Judy), Allan, and Tracy (Debbie).

Donna  lived a full life as a wonderful mother, while working as a volunteer coordinator most of her career.

She loved to cook and kept a warm home for everyone to visit and relax. Of all the things she enjoyed in life nothing came before her friends and family. She dedicated herself to all of us.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue in Edmonton Alberta beginning at 2 p.m.

Donations to the Cross Cancer Foundation are welcome. Online condolences may be expressed on the Serenity Funeral web page.

My heartfelt condolences to your family. I met Donna when I started work at the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues and she was on our Board of Directors. Over the years, my love and respect for her grew through all the work we did together, always volunteer based. So hardworking, always positive, and everything that epitomizes the best in human nature. She has left a huge void. . Rest well my beautiful friend.

Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues

A dedicated volunteer, a great advocate for Community Leagues and everything they do, a hard working board member, an invaluable Casino organizer – Oh Donna, how you will be missed! You have left a lasting legacy here at the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues. Allan said, he would be thinking of you in particular when we break ground at the 100th Anniversary Project. You epitomized everything that plaza is meant to honour.

I only new Donna for short period of time…she was my primary contact as I became an MFRC volunteer a couple of years ago. Her passion for her work was very apparent, and I know she will be missed. My condolences to the entire family.
