DONNA MARIE McARTHUR

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Marie McArthur.

Born on October 28, 1942, she was 77 when she left us on January 11, 2020.  She was predeceased by her brother Roy, mother Genevieve, father John, and sister Jean Persinger.

She leaves behind her forever loving husband of 57 years, Lloyd; her son David McArthur and his wife Leanne of Cold Lake, AB; and her daughter Brenda Danyliw (McArthur) and her husband Derek of Calgary, AB.  Also missing her are her 4 grandchildren, Devin and Colby McArthur, Jaden and Sara Danyliw; two brothers Vern (June) Little, Ken (Marjorie) Little, and countless loving family and friends.

Donna attended Nursing School after she graduated to become a Nurses Aide.  She met her forever love Lloyd and they married in 1963.  Their children came in 1965 (David) and 1971 (Brenda).  They lived in several places while Lloyd was in the Canadian Air Force, and eventually settled in Grand Centre, AB.  Donna was a devoted wife and mother and loved her children very much.  She worked for Home Hardware for many years, meeting and getting to know everyone she could.  Lloyd and Donna spent many years and tireless hours raising money every March for the Kidney Foundation.  She was passionate about helping other people, and was generous with her time and her heart.  She had many friends that loved and cared for her alongside her family when she had kidney failure, and finally dementia.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be a service at this time.  Service will take place at a later date.

No longer by our side, forever in our hearts.

Lloyd, David, Brenda and all your family.
I just read of your loss in our paper. I’m so sad to see this.Donna was never anything less than lovely to us back in our ‘Grand Centre’ days. Even when she wasn’t feeling well she was always so easy to visit with. I’m sorry we lost touch over the years. She will always be fondly remembered.
Take good care.
