Donna Gaye Saranchuk

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Saranchuk (nee Hipkin) of Sherwood Park on Friday June 28, 2019. She passed away with her family by her side at the age of 65.

She was predeceased by her parents Gerald and Pearl Hipkin, parents-in-law Mary Kotyk, Yaris Kotyk and John Saranchuk.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband Ronald Saranchuk; daughters Pamela (Bradley) Hamel, Jennifer (Evan) Korniski, step-sons Ryan (Abby) Saranchuk and Kyle (Natasja) Saranchuk; 7 grandchildren, Alicia and Ashley Hamel, Joshua and Elizabeth Korniski, Zoe and Rachel Saranchuk as well as Nadya Saranchuk; sisters Wendy Hipkin and June (Dale) Bienert and brother Ritchie (Karen) Hipkin; brother-in-law Mel (Linda) Saranchuk and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to Mexico for the winter, playing pickleball, camping, and volunteering for various activities. At the end, Donna said she had a great life!

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all who donated to help with Donna’s treatments in Germany, as well as a thank you to Dr R. Gilbert and the staff at Rivercrest Hospice in Fort Saskatchewan for their support and care.

Funeral Service to be held Friday July 5, 2019 at 10:00 am at Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. John (10951 107 St, Edmonton AB). Lunch to follow in the auditorium. Interment will take place at St. Stephen’s Cemetery (20303 Meridian St. Edmonton) thereafter.

How lucky we have been to have known someone who is so hard to say goodbye to.
