CLINE, Donn Elton
October 27, 1937 – October 16, 2014

Peacefully on the morning of Thursday, October 16, surrounded by family, Donn passed away at the age of 76 years. He was born in Delburne, Alberta to Cecil and Helen Cline.

He was loved by all who knew him for his wonderful sense of humour, his gentle nature and a great love for his family. With grace, Donn battled both Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases over the past 14 years. He leaves to cherish his memory: Sheila, his soul mate and loving wife of 55 years; daughter, Kim (Heather); sons: Scott (Janet), Chris, and Robert (Shanna); grandchildren; Amanda Johnson (Curtis), Sarah, Joshua and Matthew, who were the light of his life; his brother Herb (Vivian) and brother-in-law Bruce Dafoe.

Donn was predeceased by his parents and his sister Fay Dafoe.

He will long be remembered for his many contributions to Canada’s National and Provincial parks and as an active and cherished member of the United Church of Canada.

The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of the Good Samaritan Southgate Care Centre for their compassionate and loving care for Donn over the past 2 ½ years.

A Celebration of Donn’s Life will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Park United Church located on 20 Fir Street in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Donations in Donn’s memory may be made to the Bissell Centre, 10527 – 96 Street, Edmonton, AB T5H 2H6 or to the Good Samaritan Southgate Care Centre at 4225 – 107 Street, Edmonton, AB T6J 2P1.

Sheila, we are so sorry to hear about Donn. We have so very many fond memories from our Southwood’s days of you and Donn. Especially the great “Donn” hugs to start the Sunday mornings.
