To our Beloved Adopted Parents Diena and Randall : When we arrived to Canada more than 40 years ago, Diena and Randall Meeks opened their house and hearts to us. We as newcomers not knowing a bit of English, we had our first Canadian Christmas experience at their house after 2 weeks of arrival in Canada. Changing from +35 Celcius to -27 Celcius, in less than 24 hours, it was a shock and also so funny to remember how we tried to adapt to this new country, the people, the weather, the food, etc. In our first party in their house was very interesting and funny how we tried to communicate with the family: signs, smiles, etc, They gave us their love. They became our adopted parents.
She was a light for us in this new and cold country, seem to us when we were with her there was no winter, her friendly and lovely smile made everyone feel so warm and welcome.
We have wonderful memories of her, her husband and their family.
The Lord have called her to serve with him at this moment. As usual, She will do the best of her in any call that she will have over there, the same as she did here.
To her beloved companion Randall, and her family, we will like to say to them, thanks for the love, thanks for let your dad and mom to be our adopted parents. For the wonderful memories and specially for your lovely wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great friend, that now is in a better place with our Heavenly Father.

With love, Patricio & Scarlett Gonzalez
