With profound sadness, our family announces the passing of our husband, brother, father and grandfather Roch Demers on April 10, 2022.

He was 80 years young.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Isanthe/Sandy.

Roch was a young air force man when he met his future bride in Germany in 1969. They fell in love quickly, married in 1970 and he brought her to Canada soon afterward. His children, Michelle (Brian) and Mark (Elena) are devastated to lose him so soon. His grandchildren Zachary, Almalexia, Bethany, Emanuella and Coen are left with memories of science stories, fires and playing in the backyard, fishing for coins in the hot tub, camping, animal watching and his support for all the things they did.

Roch was the oldest of five siblings, and will be missed very much by his sister, Gertrude, and his brothers Richard, Ben (Manon), and Daniel (Lorraine), as well as his extended family in Germany. He was a great friend to many and has left an empty space in all of our hearts.

Roch loved to be outside and surrounded by the flowers and trees in his beautiful yard. In his memory, we know Roch would appreciate it if you spent some time outside enjoying nature’s beauty.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or the Cross Cancer Institute.
