It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Deborah Lynne Newman (“Deb”) at the age of 66, with her family by her side on November 6, 2019.

Deb will forever remain in the hearts of her husband of 49 years, Karl; her daughters, Theresa (Ryan) and Tammy (Gary); their children Aiyanna and Claire; son Karmen and his children Kayla and Chase.  Deb is also survived by her brothers Robert Dawdy of Spruce Grove, AB, Graham (Kathy) Dawdy of Grande Prairie, AB, and Wayne Dawdy; her sister Carmenita Dawdy of Niagara Falls, ON; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Sampson, Dr. Parrington, Nurse Janice and Nurse Solly and all the wonderful staff at the Leduc Community Hospital.  The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Audra Newman for her kindness and compassion, as well as to the home care team(s) for their attention and care.  Also, a special mention to special friends, Peggy, Darcy and Joanne (thank you for all of your kindness – Deb held your friendship deep in her heart).

I am so sorry to hear about Debbie’s passing….far too early. She was a very kind person and she had such a love for animals. I still have a picture from the Edmonton Journal of a 16 year old nursing a robin back to life and then releasing the healthy bird….my Mom, Auntie Jo, always thought Debbie was going to be a vet…..
