DEACON, Thomas Everitt

DEACON, Thomas Everitt
1943 – 2021
On September 11, 2021, Tom’s battle with cancer came to an end. Tom passed away at home with Joyce, Debbie, and David by his side. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife Joyce; his son David (Tammy); his daughter Debbie (Darcy); his grandchildren: Everitt, Emily, Cory, Adam (Jenna), and Jamie (Marianella) and his new great grandson Nico, whom he absolutely adored.
Tom was predeceased by his son Tommy Jr., his mother Margaret, father Harry and his sister Darlene.
Tom appreciated the wonders of nature, robins flocking up in the fall, cranes circling in the wind currents above, and the geese flying over. He delighted in seeing a moose at the salt block and deer in the yard. Tom loved hunting with his son and his friends, salmon fishing in B.C. with his niece Shauna and Garth. Most important to Tom was spending time with family, whether individually or at family gatherings.
Tom passed away as a result of work-related mesothelioma. We thank Deb at WCB from the bottom of our hearts for all the support and resources needed for his care. We are deeply grateful to Carla and the nurses from Devon Home Care for the wonderful care Tom has received these last two years. All medical staff have been wonderful, and we thank them.
As per Tom’s wishes there will be no funeral services. The family will gather around the firepit for a wiener roast and to share stories.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
I love you, my Tom
Sleep well
