David “Dave” Michael Nowoselski

David “Dave Michael Nowoselski

David was born Aug. 31, 1941 in Prud’homme Saskatchewan to the proud parents Sophie (Sosnowski) and William Nowoselski. He met his sweetheart Yvette (Perreault) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and on May 25, 1963 they were married. The family was complete when Barbara May (1964), Lynn Theresa (1966) and Cindy Lisa (1971) were born.

David received his education degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He began his teaching career in a one room school in Smuts, Saskatchewan. His career path included administration, but he enjoyed the classroom setting the best and concentrated his energy there where he excelled. He was a much loved and respected educator. He taught in Saskatchewan (Asquith, Prince Albert and Eastend) as well as in British Columbia (Gibsons and Ashcroft).

As well as having a love of learning, David was a carpenter at heart. He loved life best when his hands were dirty and he was working with wood. He built houses in Gibsons, Dawson Creek and Ashcroft. He received immense satisfaction from this kind of accomplishment.

Sunnyside Trailer Park in Kamloops and Wildwood Trailer Park in Prince George were his dreams come true. Always the entrepreneur, he also enjoyed the sense of community that was created in this environment and took pride in helping to provide affordable, safe housing to his clients.

David loved music and dancing. He did an amazing polka and was a leader in the square dancing community. It was with awe and admiration that others watched David and Yvette whirl and twirl around the dance floor.

Family was dear to his heart . His pride in his wife, children and grandchildren was obvious. They are what he treasured most.

He is lovingly remembered by:
Yvette (nee: Perreault) Nowoselski

My condolences to you Yvette and family. Favourite memory of Dave is his attempt to teach me physics in gr. 11 @ Providence all girls school. There were only 4 in his class didn’t take it in gr12 but it wasn’t because of the teacher. He was so patient & supportive to us. My thoughts & prayers are with you. Judy Perreault
