It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic death of Daniel (Danny) Schulz on April 30, 2014.
Danny leaves behind his loving parents Petra and Rick, brothers Jan and Julian, grandparents Fred and Erika in Calgary, and Veronika in Germany, uncle Tony (Joann), aunt Linda (Don), cousins Eula, Ina, and Everett, his extended family, the love of his life, Gavin, and his many wonderful friends who share our grief. He was predeceased by his uncle Michael (Mike) in 1993.
Danny enjoyed writing lyrics and recording music with his friends; old cars, especially his Chevettes and his Justy; riding his longboard and his bike; being in his second home on beautiful Mayne Island; and preparing great food for family and friends. He was a talented chef and his absence will be felt in the kitchens he worked in around Edmonton and on the West Coast. What was most important to Danny was his family and friends, whom he loved dearly. He will be missed profoundly and words cannot be found to describe the pain we feel, but his spirit will live on in our hearts. More than anything, we will remember his sense of humour, his kindness, and his smile.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 11223 – 51 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, at 3 pm. Refreshments in the church hall will follow.
Donations in Danny’s memory can be made to Camp fYrefly, 7-104 Education North Building, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2G5, or to the Youth Empowerment and Support Services, 9310 – 82 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T6C 0Z6.
