I am thinking of you, Dianna, as you grieve the loss of your special husband, Dale. May there be a measure of comfort for you, knowing that others care. May there be strength for you as you adjust to life without your partner. With deepest sympathy, Doris

I fondly remember Dale and the many years we worked together at Millar Western. We shared many laughs and breakfasts with the yard and shop guys. Dale always had a soft spot for animals – I remember one little black weasel in particular. Dale would feed and talk to him in the shop and was so happy to show others the little fellow. Dianna, I am so sorry to hear of your loss and please know that we will all miss him.

I was able to see Dale regularly over 10 years both in the Yukon and Alberta. I am a better person for knowing his warm gentle soul. By far my warmest memories are the trail ride in Saskatchewan one summer long ago.

Dale and I travelled to a week long conference in Quetico, Ontario. Jim Norris also took part, and Phyllis Watson travelled out from Tungsten with us. It was one of the weirdest and best of times. Dale had me in tow, to the point I was tagging right behind him in Winnipeg airport, when Dale turned and suggested I take a seat as I was not to follow him into men’s toilet. He was a comfortable companion always, happy and made you happy too. Rest in Peace.

Dale and I met in High School at Scott Collegiate in the 60’s. We were school friends and he married my lifelong friend Dianna.
Over the past 50 years we had a heartfelt friendship…we may have been separated by miles but always special friends. Dale, Dianna and I had awesome visits the past 5 years. One of my fondest memories is when I went to visit them on the farm…he took me on a carriage ride being pulled by his two horses…I will treasure that memory forever. Dale was a very warm, loving man and he will forever have a place in my heart and Dianna and I will continue on with our lifetime friendship and share many beautiful memories of Dale. There will be tears and there will be laughter but always fondest memories of a loving person …inside and out. xxxooo

Dale – I will love you the rest of my life. You are my one true love. I fondly remember the surprise lunch you gave me. Calling me at home to ask me for lunch and to meet you at the airport. You flew me to Beaver Creek to meet with Doris and Walt and have lunch. What a flight that was and a thrill for you to fly me. I will never forget the kindness you had for everyone you met and the love you shared. Forever.

We are so sorry for your loss Diana. I cannot imagine your pain. We fondly remember the great times we had in Tungsten with the two of you. Dale’s terrific smile and the joy with which he approached and loved his life while there will always stand out in our memory. Take care of yourself.
