Daireen May Mesina

-

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for these things of the past are gone forever.” (Revelation 21:4)

In the midst of a brief battle of metastatic breast cancer, it is with great sorrow to announce that our beloved Daireen May Andrada Mesina was called to dwell in the glorious house of the Lord. At the dawning age of 46, Daireen passed away peacefully in the presence of close family and friends on June 29, 2014. Her self-proclaimed charisma and selfless acts of loving-kindness will be dearly missed and cherished.

Daireen was considered the backbone of the family, in charge of family vacations and always kept an optimistic outlook on life. She has taught God’s grace to children of the church and continues to leave her mark in the ministry.

Daireen is survived by her loving husband (Melvin), two children (Meljun) and (Merenisa), mother (Norma), brother (Andrew and family), sister (Joan and family) and many more cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts.

A Celebration of Life for Daireen will be held on Monday, July 7 at 6:00-8pm and the Funeral service on Tuesday, July 8 at 6:00-8:00pm, with First Filipino Alliance Church officiating. (10115-79 Street Edmonton, AB)

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to relatives, friends, church families, employers and gracious acquaintances for their kindness, support and care shown to Daireen during her battle.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Palliative Care Unit of Grey Nuns Community Hospital who cared so much for Daireen during her time there.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Melvin Mesina’s name for Meljun & Merenisa’s educational fund.

With the loss of an amazing daughter, mother and woman, may Daireen remain alive in all of our hearts!

Daireen is one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life… Always putting other people first before herself. She’s in a good place now where there is no more pain nor suffering…

I remembered those days back 1994 -1995 when we were in the same care group (singles group) under the leadership of Iris de Jesus Kelly, we had so much fun, laughing , eating , talking, singing walking ,crying with each other, etc.We had lots of good times as well as bad times. Life is too short. We did not expect that you left this world so soon. Any how, I praised and thank God for your life, for your faithfulness and dedication in serving him in children’s ministry and in worship ministry. We will be missing you but you will remain in our hearts. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Melvin, Meljun anf Merenisa and to your mom, brothers and sisters and relatives. I pray that God will continue to give them peace, comfort surround them with His love. We love youy dear friend and sister in the Lord.
