June 1959 – November 25, 2021

Barb passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Barb faced her illness, as she did her life…with courage and positivity, winning the hearts of all of her doctors and medical team.

Barb was predeceased by her loving husband Graham, her father-in-law Laurence and her brother-in-law Russell.

Left to miss Barb are her loving parents Layton & Jean Burgoyne, her 6 siblings Joyce (Mike), Erroll (Sandra), Ross (Amy), Brenda (George), Glenda (Greg), Heather (Bob), her Mother-in-law Joyce Coupland and step-daughters Lindsey (Paul), Bailey (Sam) and her four beautiful step-grandchildren Bremner, Kaidance, Clark and Matilda.

Barb will be dearly missed by her fur baby Jayd (her Angel), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Barbara left her beloved Prince Edward Island and moved to Edmonton in 1981, where she began a career in sales. In 2004, Barb was hired by Screen Craft Industries, where she excelled in her career in sales. She will be greatly missed by her work family and all of her clients that were also her friends.

Barb was a light in the room and always knew how to have fun. Barb, your spirit is roaming free with Graham and your two fur babies Ragz and Tobi.

Your presence will be deeply missed, our sweet Barbie. Your memory will be forever embedded in our hearts. We love you so much and our family will never be the same without you.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be announced at a later date.

We’re so sad to hear about the passing of Barb. She was wonderful to work with and created so many amazing projects with us. She will be very missed!

Leanne Harback

My deepest condolences go out to Barb’s family. I’ve had the privilege of working with Barb for over a decade. Screen Craft is a label supplier for the company I work for and Barb was my rep. She knew about my kids; always asking about them, she knew their names and gave me tips for fun places to take them, shared stories of her pups and her grandchildren and family and all of her travelling adventures. I am truly so sad to hear she has passed. She was a genuinely lovely woman who radiated so much happiness; her smile was so infectious, I am going to really miss her. Thank you, Barb for being such a bright light in this world. It was such a pleasure knowing you.

For 50 years now the Burgoynes have been like family to me. My heart broke to hear the news of Barb’s passing. She truly was a bright light on Earth. She had an endearing manner and called everyone ‘Darling’ whereas Barb herself was the true darling. She lives forever in my heart and childhood memories. May all of her family find peace in their own memories of the beauty that was Barb. May Barb rest in peace reunited with her beloved Graham. <3

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Burgoyne and Coupland families. We were privileged to be friends of Barb and Graham over the last many years. Barb nurtured her friendships and selflessly cared for her life partner, Graham. Even in her short time since Graham’s passing, Barb cared for others all the while fighting her own battle with cancer. She was always so positive and lit up the room. You left us too early Barb. We will miss you. Your family, especially Brenda and Glenda were so loving and devoted.
We will treasure your friendship and kindness. Rest peacefully Barb. God bless.
