Climenhaga, Daniel (Danny) Robert

It is with sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Daniel (Danny) Climenhaga who passed away and went home to be with his Lord at the age of 48 on March 22, 2020. Danny had a great sense of humour. He was known for his love of singing enthusiastically at church and had a smile for all who interacted with him. He will be remembered by his siblings Harold (Heather), David (Linda), John (Irene), Byron (Debbie), Keith (Belinda), and Cheryl (Andy); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family and friends.

Danny was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Marjory.

The family greatly appreciates the congregation and pastoral staff of Southgate Alliance Church for the exceptional kindness, love and respect they showed to Danny throughout his life and especially after the passing of his parents. Special thanks to Pastor Tim who was an extraordinary mentor to Danny. We are also very grateful to the wonderful staff at Good Samaritan for the excellent care at both of his group homes over his adult years.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southgate Alliance Church.

Danny was a good friend of mine growing up, he was an enthusiastic churchgoer and an active member of the community. I remember when he would bike around the neighborhood, and he had a good memory for finding places, even after visiting only once. I look forward to meeting him in heaven.

Danny was a kind and gentle soul who was used by God for His purposes. Group home workers and other caregivers regularly brought Danny to services at Southgate Alliance Church, which may have been the only time many of these individuals had the opportunity to hear a clear presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now Danny is truly at home where he belongs.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9.
