Cindy Miller

Miller, Cindy Louise (nee Brown)
Cindy Louise Brown was born in Dawson Creek on November 26th, 1962 to parents Shirley and Dale Brown. Cindy passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on December 26th, 2013 at the age of 51 years.
Cindy attended school in Dawson Creek, B.C. , and graduated from South Peace Senior Secondary School in 1981. She was always popular, and a fun loving person, that was very caring to everyone, including her pets. Almost everyone in the family and many friends have reminders of Cindy, as she was always making craft items for everyone. Her most popular hobby was making beautiful Ukrainian eggs.
After graduating, Cindy worked for some time at the World Famous Alaska Cafe where she met all types of interesting people. In 1986 Cindy went on a six week Contiki tour of 13 European countries. On this tour, while she was in London, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew were married and she was able to watch the wedding procession as it passed through the streets of London. Shortly after that she moved to Victoria, B.C., where she worked with a handicapped client. This was a job she excelled at. After returning to Dawson Creek in the summer of 1990, Cindy worked for the Society of Community Living, once again working with mentally and physically challenged clients.
In 1996 Cindy met the love of her life Terry Miller while she was in Edmonton visiting her cousin. She soon moved to Edmonton and on August 30th, 1997 Cindy and Terry were married. Shortly after the ceremony the news came that Princess Diana had been tragically killed in a car accident.
Cindy and Terry made their home in Edmonton where for a few years she volunteered at a home for the handicapped near their home.
Cindy has had many medical challenges over the past few years and after breaking her hip in early 2012 she has resided in the Edmonton General 4Y nursing home.
Cindy was predeceased by her grandparents Wayne and Zella Brown of Dawson Creek, Ford and Edna Norman of Nanton, Alberta and her parents in-law Joan and Doug Miller of Edmonton.
She is survived by her loving husband Terry Miller, parents Shirley and Dale Brown of Dawson Creek, B.C,; siblings Gordon Brown, Mavis (Jamie) McLean and Norman (Danae) Brown; nieces and nephews, Samantha, Shawna and Dustin Brown, Kael (Brandis) Short, Emily Short and Spencer McLean; sister in law Jane (Gordon Schwinghamer) Miller as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends in the Edmonton area.

A memorial service for Cindy will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Highlands United Church, 11305-64 Street, Edmonton, Alberta at 1:30 pm.

Our love goes out to Cindys husband Terry Miller who has stood by her through all her trials and tribulations over the past few years. He was her rock during many trying times. We thank him for all the care he gave to our daughter.

My very fondest memory of Cindy was when she was only 1 year old and stayed with my husband & I while Shirley was in hospital giving birth to Norman! Not only did she look like a little doll, she was a delight to have around. Each morning she would ‘sneak’ into our bed and if we even peaked through a little slit in our eyes she would see that and start bouncing around the bed giggling and laughing and hugging & kissing us. What a delightful way to start a day and we had a whole week of it. Lucky us!! She grew up to be as delightful a young lady as she was as a tiny girl!! We will always be missed!
