It is with great sadness that the family of Christine Tsoyi Nwaga announces her passing after succumbing to a brain tumor on Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 71 years.
Christine was born on January 4, 1942 and grew up in Nyamsong, Cameroon.
In 1965, she moved to Paris where she pursued an education in nursing. Christine worked as a nurse at Hospital Armand Trousseau in Paris until 1969, when she returned to Cameroon and worked at the PMI (Maternal Protection and Child Health) for 25 years until her retirement. Christine then moved to Canada in January 1996 to join her daughter and granddaughter.
Christine is survived by her daughter Chantal; granddaughter Isabelle; brothers: Benjamin, Jean and Simon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.
In celebration of her life, family and friends are invited to a tribute event held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Thomas d’Aquin Catholic Church, 8410 – 89 Street, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help repatriate Christine’s remains to Cameroon.
