Mrs. Charles-Ann Mielke “Charlie” passed away in Edmonton on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 79 years after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Charles-Ann is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of almost 60 years Bruce Mielke; children, Brian (Sylvia), Brent (Debra), Karen (Jim) Haluska, Kent (Taunya) and Kirk (Kim). She will also be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren Alex, Miranda, Jacqueline, Conor, Matthew, Joshua, Sydney, Indigo, Treyson, Cole, Tate, Torri, Addisson, and Blake and by her sister, Kathy Bennington and brother-in-law, Bob. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Rondeau.
Charles-Ann graduated from nursing in 1959. She nursed in pediatrics at the University of Alberta Hospital before moving to the Mewburn Veterans Centre where she eventually became a unit charge nurse and worked until her retirement in 1997. She was a very kind, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at the Misericordia Hospital for the care they provided to Charles-Ann and the patience and kindness they showed to her and the family during her time there.
A celebration of Charles-Ann’s life will be held Monday September 25, 2017 at 11:00am at Southgate Alliance Church 3916 107 Street NW.
