Dear Frank, Carmen and family,

I am very sorry to hear about Saletta’s passing. What a beautiful photo you have used with her obituary! That is exactly how I remember your mother – elegant and beautiful.

I have so many very fond memories of her and your father, of course, dating back to when I was a child. Saletta was always welcoming, kind and interested in us children. And what a dynamic and engaging woman – always so interesting and easy to talk to.

My fondest memories of your Mom include her yelling “Mimo!”, informal visits with her when Ian and I lived in our first house in Lauderdale, spending a day with her at the Girasol in Cancun, eating her marvellous spaghetti, chatting with her at Christmas events at the Italian Cultural Centre, and a very funny “debate” your parents had once in front of me when they couldn’t agree in what year they had been married! I still have a cake-cutting knife she unexpectedly gave me right before I married and I think of her fondly each and every time I use it.

I know you will miss Saletta very much. Ian and I extend our sincere condolences.
