It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Carol Winifred Bell (nee Renton) on January 4, 2017 after a long and difficult bout with Cancer.
She leaves behind to mourn her husband of 51 years John (Jack) Bell; her son Douglas (Wanda) Bell of Spruce Grove, AB and grandchildren Kenna, David and Bradley; her daughter Colleen Kirkpatrick of Victoria, BC and granddaughter Caitlin; son Allan Bell of Slave Lake, AB and granddaughters Elizabeth and Katherine; her brother Allan (Pat) Renton of Cloverdale, BC; her sister Esther (Mel) Meunier of Edmonton, AB; as well as extended family and friends.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Betty and Gordon Renton and her younger brother Ken.
Carol was born in Westlock and raised in Fort Assiniboine. She has lived in Edmonton, St. Albert, Barrhead, Hinton, Red Deer, Calgary and in her retirement years, Spruce Grove.
She was a wonderful mother, inspiring all her children to good health, good living and positive work habits. Carol has always been proud of her family and always carried a small album of her grandchildren’s photos to share with any who asked. In her retirement years, she and John enjoyed travelling in their camper van throughout North America where she enjoyed sightseeing, observing nature, photography, camping, hiking and campfires. She will be missed by all those that knew her.
Grateful thanks to the many healthcare providers who assisted Carol over the past year.
A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Serenity Funeral Home in Spruce Grove, AB. (600 Calahoo Road). An interment service, in Victoria, BC, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to Capital Care Norwood Hospice in Carol’s memory.
