Carol Jean Nelson (nee Wilson)

-

Carol Jean Nelson was born in Carrot River, SK on March 23, 1957, to parents Catherine & William Wilson. She had many siblings, Gladys, Linda, Gary, Doris, Jack, Ivan, David and Bill. The family made a few moves over the years, and finally settled in Outlook, SK where much of Carol’s education and growing up took place. After graduation, Carol moved to Edmonton where she met and married Darrell Nelson in 1978. Carol and Darrell worked in Edmonton and moved to Stettler, AB in 1979. It was in Stettler where they had two beautiful daughters Chantelle and Alisha. In 1993 they moved to Athabasca, AB, their current home. Carol was primarily a stay at home mother where she home schooled and raised her daughters and was a loving wife to her husband, Darrell. The girls grew and married two wonderful men, eventually giving Carol four beautiful grandchildren, Emma, Calvin, Megan, and Judah. Carol loved her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. She was “Nana” to them. Carol had a deep love for God and was a born again Christian. Besides her love for God, her husband, and her daughters; her grandchildren were the jewels in her crown.

Carol passed away on July 1, 2017 in Saskatoon, SK while attending a family reunion. She is in Heaven with her mother and grandson Isaac, in a new glorified body, awaiting the arrival of all those she knew and loved so much.

Angela Wilson

Dear Carol, thank you for coming to visit me and my infant son after the c section. Thank you for staying up with baby Jordan all night so I could sleep. I was so exhausted and I had no one. My Mother was not there for me. I’m grateful that you were.
