BENJAMIN, Carol Ann and William Edward
Lovingly Remembered and Dearly Missed

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our parents: our beloved mother, Carol Ann Benjamin nee Blackburn, who passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the age of 59, and our beloved father, William “Bill” Edward Benjamin, who passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 61.

Carol and Bill are lovingly remembered by their two sons, Billy (Amanda) and Bryan Benjamin and their two granddaughters, Gabby and Ava Benjamin-Sorsdahl. Carol also leaves her sister, Catherine (Sherri) Graham and her aunt Shirley Pineo who was like a sister, and Bill leaves three siblings, Bob (Gloria) and Bernie (Heather) Benjamin, and Pat (Bill) Weatherbee nee Benjamin and his mother Madge Benjamin nee Stevens, to cherish their memory. They will be dearly missed by a wide extended family in Nova Scotia and by many friends in Alberta and BC.

Carol was predeceased by her grandparents who raised her, Gwen and Ralph Blackburn and her mother Dorothy Louise Blackburn. Bill is predeceased by his father Bernard Benjamin and his sister Pauline McLullan nee Benjamin.

Carol and Bill have been cremated and their ashes will be buried in Nova Scotia at a later date.

Catherine

You can shed tears that they are gone
or you can smile because they have lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that they’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all they left.

You can remember them and only that they’ve gone
or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what they’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Sorry that I won’t be there for this service but my spirit is with you Billy, Amanda and Bryan

A lot of memories especially when I lived with Carol and Bill my first year in Edmonton many years ago as Billy was 2 and Bryan just came along when I ventured out on my own. One never forgets although miles maybe there between you. Your lives ended too early yet you are still together!! Vanessa

My dear sweet beautiful friends, you meant the world to me. I can’t begin to describe how much you meant to me. The word friendship should have your picture beside it, because you represented the true meaning of friend. To lose you both so close together has shattered me but I take comfort in knowing you’re both together, and free from the constraints of this world. I’ll cherish all the times we spent together and every time I have pork chops I’ll think of you. I love you guys. Your wonderful sons Billy and Bryan are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope they know that at any time they need me they can call on me, even if it’s just to talk about you, their loving parents.

Although we never met your mom or dad, Bryan you have been a part of our family for a long time. So please accept our deepest sympathies, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your brother. It is very hard to lose a parent who is so young but to lose both in such a short period of time must be devastating. Remember we are all here for you so reach out when you need someone. You are always welcome here as one of the family. Take care
Brenda, Brian and Dre
