It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herb Walford at the age of 82 after a long illness.
To mourn his passing and to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Carol; his children: Cindy Hernandez, Murray Walford (David), Debra Van Hees, Sharon Tone (Vern), Colleen Hanson (Steve) and Daniel Walford; grandchildren: Keleigh (Dorian), Brandon (Kari), Sean, Jessica (Kris), Krista and Scott; great-grandchildren: Kyle, Natara, Paityn and Lydia; his sister Dianne Hodgson (Bill), in-laws: Milton Spracklin, Ellen Ingram, Albert and Sonny Ingram, Sharon Krulak, and Bill Ingram, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Herb was predeceased by his son Carl, parents Carl and Irene, sister-in-law Lynne Havens and her husband Jim, brother-in-law Don Ingram, sister-in-law Esther Spracklin, and sister-in-law Shirley Stark.
Herb was born in Edmonton. He lived with his family in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and on a farm by Thorsby, southwest of Edmonton. He worked at Celanese for over 45 years and was known as a good man to many who worked there. He was a kind and generous family man with strong family values and he was a respected member of his community.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at Calvary Community Church, 8704 Millwoods Road, Edmonton. Friends and family are invited to stay for a lunch at the Church after the ceremony. Interment by Serenity Funeral Services to follow at South Haven Cemetery.
Herb’s family would like to thank the staff at the Grey Nun’s Hospital for the kind care and attention they provided during his many visits and final days.
