BURKE, Janice Marie

It is with profound sadness we share the passing of Janice Marie Burke (Kolito) on April 8, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

The sun rose and the world welcomed Jan on August 15th, 1946, a day the world became a little brighter. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Jan lived a full and warm life, filled with joy. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. She was a woman full of grace and kindness and anyone that knew her was lucky enough to experience her gentle soul. Jan had a laugh and smile that lit up a room. She was a loving and devoted wife, Aunt and friend to those lucky enough to call her one of these.

Jan is survived by her husband and best friend of 52 years, Joe. She married the love of her life on February 1st, 1969. She will be greatly missed.

She is also survived by her brother Gregory Kolito, brothers in law Jeff Burke & Kelly Burke, nieces and nephews Sean, Cathy and Matt Beissel, Ed and Jolene Burke, Kiera Burke and Mary Burke.

Jan was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Mildred Kolito. As well as her beloved sisters in law, Sheila Beissel and Delores Burke.

My sincere condolences to Joe, the Bissel and Burke families for the loss of my dear friend Janice. I will always cherish the time we spent together having coffee at Tim Hortons, our group dinners and our trips to craft markets. Be at peace my friend, you will always be remembered and the memories we made held dear in my heart.

Janice was a great listener, a prolific reader, a kind and loving friend and a truly gentle soul. I think of her often, miss our chats and it is with an enduring sadness that circumstances made us unable to continue our weekly coffee ‘meetings’ over the past many, many months. My sincere condolences to you Joe and all your family.

My Deepest Sympathy to Joe and Family. Sorry to hear that Janice passed away. I will miss my friend dearly. Janice was my partner in crime at work, as our Boss always said to us. Janice my dear friend, may you rest in peace and suffer no more. May your laughter ring loudly in Heaven. The angels have carried you home. My prayers are with Joe and the Burke families. Your coffee buddy and friend, Frances Schlag
