BURAK, Margaret Ann

BURAK, Margaret Ann

June 5, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Ann (Marg) Burak at 78 years old on June 5, 2022. Marg is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jacquelynne Burak, as well as numerous family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Walter Burak in 2012.  Also, by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. She grew up in the Humboldt, Saskatchewan area and after getting her teachers certificate, she took a job in Northern Saskatchewan where she met Wally and knew immediately that she met the love of her life. Marg was a teacher for 37.5 years and loved every bit of teaching and guiding children on their educational journeys, starting out in a one room schoolhouse in Saskatchewan, and spending most of her career teaching the elementary grades before retiring from Caledonia Park School in Leduc in 2000. Gardening, planting flowers, and planting trees at the family tree farm were all full-time passions of Marg’s. Marg and Wally usually had a project on the go or were planning the next one and had many travel adventures together.  Always ready to be off somewhere to fulfill their desire of seeing or doing new things and experiencing all that life had to offer. They shared this adventurous travel spirit with their daughter. Marg had the gift of the gab and loved talking to anyone she met along her life’s journey to find out more about them and share her stories, usually starting out with the question “So where’s home for you?”.

A celebration of Marg’s life will be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marg’s memory may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Leduc.

I am so sorry to hear of Marg’s passing. She was a part of my childhood and I have many cherished memories of her and Wally. They lived across the street from us for a time in Corinthia park but I still continued to see the family after they moved, many a time having sleep overs with J.J , and the lovely meals she always made for us.
I also got to spend time with her and Wally with the rodeo and the Antique Society events. I will miss seeing her at these and will think of her fondly now. Bless you J.J and my you cherish the loving memories.
