Bruce was dearly loved and survived by his children Kerri-Lynn, Rodney, Cindy, Chris, his grandchildren Wacy (Skye), Kali, Justine, Katelynn, Mason, Bailey, Ashley, Emiley and his great grandson Wyatt. Bruce is also survived by the mother of his children Peggy, they shared a special bond and love for each other.
He was pre deceased by his father Ronald Burt, he is survived by his mother Ruby Burt and his siblings Betty (Ford), Marie, Gail (Terry), Aubrey (Sheila), Dianne(Max), Randy(Libby), and Tina(Cory) and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce lovingly known as Pop to his grandchildren had a big love of nature, it was often noted how he was a man who needed very little except his family and to be outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, he was a rare and special man who could live off the land.
Bruce had many friends, his door was always open to others. Some of these friends paved his way to Heaven, Alan, Tom, Mart, and Jimmy were there to greet him at heaven’s gate. He leaves behind Buck (Denise), Peter, Iver (Marian), and many friends at his beloved Legion where he notoriously won many meat draw prizes.
A special thank you to all the nurses and doctors who cared for Bruce during his illness, especially to Dr. Murphy who Bruce held in high regard.
His sense of humor and giant heart drew people to him, including during the last days of his life. Bruce would always take the time to ask his care givers how they were doing, even before they could ask him how he was. Making people smile and laugh was one of his greatest traits. Bruce was selfless and loving with a sweet gentle soul. That soul lives on in his loved ones.
Our beloved father’s final journey home will be with his four children in the place so near and dear to his heart Newfoundland at a date yet to be determined.
