In great sorrow and with much love we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Doug Bratton who passed away November 30, 2020 at the age of 71 years. His memory will be cherished by his wife Karen, his son Tim (Amy), his daughter Angela (Erik), his grandkids Oswald & Ira, as well as by his entire extended family in Canada and the US.
Doug was known and loved for his kind and gentle spirit, he was a great encourager to many and his passing has come as a shock to us all. Friends from church, golfing buddies, coworkers from his years as a sales executive all feel the immense absence Doug has left in their lives as he moves on to his reward.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for Doug at the U of A hospital following his stroke on November 25. As hard as the final days of Doug’s life were, we are thankful for the kindness and support he and his family received during that time.
Due to covid restrictions a private interment service will be held only for his closest family. However, we look forward to holding a celebration of Doug’s life with all his many friends at a future date when it is permitted.
Even in the midst of our sorrow we believe that Doug would say to us all, as he always did, “Bless you, Bless you, Bless you.”
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

We are better people because we were able to know Doug. He was always an encouragement to us and modelled a gentle spirit every time we met. We will miss him here but rejoice that he sits as part of the heavenly host worshiping his Lord. Well done good and faithful servant until we meet again.
