Bradley Nelson Ludwig

-

We mourn the passing of Brad “Ol’ Dad” Ludwig, cherished husband, father and grandfather, who died peacefully in Leduc on December 26, 2015 with family by his side. He was 67 years old.

Brad is survived by his wife, Colleen (nee Fichter); three children, Arlo (Amanda), Cameron (Dorothy), Jerilee (Steve); his beloved grandchildren, Erden, Inara, Annika, Emmet, Layna, Elowen; and his siblings, Dennis, Connie, Lynn, Laura, Tim, Ray, Beryl, and Perry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Anne Ludwig.

His children remember him as a humble, patient and supportive father who always encouraged them to pursue their dreams and goals. Brad was accomplished at submerged arc welding and he enjoyed coming up with newer, more efficient ways of welding large pressure tanks which was a direct benefit to the growth of the company he worked for. He was a generous and thoughtful man who loved his family and was passionate about gardening and landscaping. Brad was an active and dedicated member of Heimdal Community Church and loved to volunteer his time there.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Heimdal Community Church (RR 1, Millet, AB T0C 1Z0). https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/heimdal-community-church/

Worked indirectly in the early 90’s with Brad as he was welding and I was painting at the tank place. He was always ready to help and share his vast amount of knowledge of the industry. He will be missed by all.

In the Prayer of St. Frances I see Brad in the beautiful person he was.

Lord make me an instrument of your Peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow Love;
Where there is injury, Pardon;
Where there doubt, Faith;
Where there is despair, Hope
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

Oh Master, grant that I may not seek so much to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to
understand; to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

May we all be just a little more like Brad.

In my fond memories, Lynne (sister)
