On January 24, 2020, Bradley William McKee passed away at the age of 63 years. Brad is survived by his wife Vina; his children, Rebecca and Steven; his mom Arliss and dad Cec; his father Bill and stepmother Roni; and his sister Linda (John) Wiggins. His kindness and sense of humour will also be missed by his beloved dogs, Tycho and Gaib; all his nieces and nephews; his in-laws Roy (Sandra) Stover, Ed (Duwan) Stover, and Theresa Stover; and all his many wonderful friends and coworkers.
Brad rarely met anyone he couldn’t make into a friend, whether he was surveying a runway north of the Arctic Circle or rushing to catch a plane to the Caribbean, his favourite holiday destination. He took great pride in doing each of his jobs well: surveyor, hardware store supervisor, bus driver. His absence will be especially clear in the many 7-Elevens where he paid his weekly “Tax on the Stupid”: his lottery tickets that “some jerk in Ontario” kept winning. Stock in Shreddies will drop without Brad around to eat them all, but there will be more coffee at Tim Hortons for the rest of us.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Brad on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Northmount Community Hall at 10 AM, 9208 140 Ave NW Edmonton. A reception with light refreshments will follow. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, please eat a date square and make a new friend, just like Brad would have. If you’d like to make a donation, please give to the Cross Cancer Institute.
