BOYCE, Barbara “Joanne”

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend Barbara (Joanne) Boyce.  Joanne passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017, with her loving family at her side, after a long and courageous fight against breast cancer.

She leaves behind her step-daughter Kathy, son Vince (Brenda), daughter Corinna (Craig), grandchildren Jamie (fiance Katie), Cara (Seth), Sydney, John and her stepchildren Justis, Hunter, Mckenna, and Ryann.

Joanne was predeceased by her husband John and parents George and Josephine.  Joanne was the eldest of five siblings:  Jim (Patti-Lee), Marg (Tony), Don, and Bob (Sherry).  The support from her family and friends gave her much strength.

Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many.  Her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around will never be forgotten.

Thank you to all the family, friends, neighbours and those who were a part of Joanne’s life over the years.  Special thanks to Carrie, Theresia and (the late) Helen who truly became a part of our family.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes, there will be a Celebration of Joanne’s Life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Highlands United Church, 11305 – 64 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, led by her good friend Reverend John Burrill.  A luncheon reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joanne’s honour may be made to the Alberta Breast Cancer Foundation; https://albertacancer.ca/donate/breast-cancer.

Joanne once provided me with a place of refuge, i was to young and immature to understand the importance of this generous simple act. Joanne feed me and tried helping me get back on the right track, i was a lost cause. I truly believe there was no help for me and so on my way l went.
I would like to thank the Boyce family for your understanding and help that was provided to me at that time.
Take Care
God Bless you all
