It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of a much-loved husband, father and gido, Larry Bowzeylo. He passed away at the Mazankowski Hospital on Saturday, August 25. He had struggled for several years with a neurological disorder, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, which he fought bravely and honourably. The Lord was his strength.
Larry was born and grew up in Edmonton. In 1967 Larry married Violet Andrusiw and in 1969 they moved to Fort Mc Murray where Larry joined GCOS which later became Suncor Energy Inc.
Violet passed away in 1971 after their daughter Kimberly was born. Larry met Bev in June of 1972 and they were married in December of 1972. Larry worked his way up to Shift Supervisor in 1980 and Area Supervisor in 1989. He retired in 2002 at the age of 57 and started his consulting business, BCS INC.
In 2003, Larry and Bev moved to Stony Plain. He worked for 13 years and in 2016 he closed down his business.
He started failing in 2012 and was finally correctly diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in 2015. His last few years were very much a struggle as his body slowly continued to deteriorate. Larry and Bev very much appreciated the love and continuing prayers from the Spruce Grove Alliance Church Family.
Larry is survived by his loving family: wife Bev; daughter Kimberly, her husband Blue Gilham and their two beautiful daughters: Hannah and Naomi and her newly-married husband, Cathal Fagan, all of whom reside in Australia; daughter Dana, her husband, Kevin Blosser and their beautiful daughters: Dani and Cayley, all of Parkland County as well as his son Michael and his wife, Jen. Larry felt very blessed, loved and loved his family dearly. They were number one in his heart.
He is also survived by his sisters: Belinda (Harold) Brooks and family of Leduc, Doreen (Cory) Zee and family of Edmonton, Leona (Richard) Bunes and family of Edmonton; as well as all of Bev’s brothers and sisters.
He was predeceased by his mother, Stephanie in 2000 and his father Wasyl, in 1993.
Larry is gone but never forgotten. He has gone home to be with Jesus and the loved ones that went on before him. He is waiting for the rest of us to join him too.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Friday, August 31/18 at 1:00 pm from Spruce Grove Alliance Church, 250 Century Rd, Spruce Grove, AB.
