It is with great sadness we announce that Dave Boryski ended his hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 56. Dave was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His enthusiasm for the outdoors, whether biking, skiing, camping or walking the ravine behind his house with his kids and dogs, was legendary.
Dave grew up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. In 1990, he married Shannon Sookochoff and settled in Edmonton where he worked as an MRI and x-ray technician. Jack was born in 1999, and Molly in 2005, and dogs Libby and Lilly and cat Cleo joined the family. Dave’s kids were his pride and joy. He loved them dearly.
Dave shared his tremendous love and respect for the outdoors with Jack and Molly and many friends. Down hill skiing in the Rockies and cross country skiing and cycling on local trails were his passion. He loved his camping trips with his family and friends.
Dave was predeceased by his dad Gus Boryski, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his kids Jack and Molly, his mom Eileen Boryski, former wife Shannon, sisters Gwenn Boryski, Tee Blackmore and Linda Boryski, brothers-in-law, nephews, cousins, and many, many true friends.
Over the years, Dave received many Canadian Blood Services blood products as part of his cancer treatment. Dave and his family would be honoured if friends and family would consider making a blood or cash donation to “Team Dave” at the CBS Partners for Life program. Use Team Dave code TEAM0090032.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to support Jack and Molly in their pursuit of higher education. If you are interested in knowing more, click here.
Rest in peace, dear Dave.
