On Thursday, August 13, 2020 John C. Boe of Stony Plain, AB (formerly of Mannville, AB) passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 87. John loved his family, was a true horseman, happiest when riding the trails in the mountains, while working cattle on the ranch or teaching the kids how to ride.
John will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his sons: Marvin (Katie), Alan (Wendy), Curtis (Marg) and daughter Carrie (Ken) Whitney, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
John will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his longtime partner Dorothea Sorge, her sons Kai (Melanie), Michael (Courtenay), Manuel (Melissa), her 5 grandchildren and his loyal companion Speck.
He is also survived by his sister Norma Ewing, sister-in-law Rosemarie Boe, brother Stanley Boe and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Maude Boe, siblings: Lloyd Boe, Orville Boe and Laverne Gordon; brothers-in-law: Bob Gordon, Ross Ewing and sisters-in-law: Cynthia Boe, Toots Boe and Jean Boe, nephews Roderick Boe, Russell Boe and niece Sorrina Boe.
The family would like to thank Dr. Witharana and the palliative care team from West View Health Centre for their excellent care and support.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to STARS would be greatly appreciated.
