Blodwen “Billie” Williams, aged 87, died peacefully on Saturday November 4 in St. Albert.
Billie was born in Calgary on April 13, 1930.
She is predeceased by her parents Sarah and Dan, siblings Edgar, David, Katherine and Patricia, her sons David and James, and her Grandsons David and Derek.
She is survived by her brother Tom Williams, her sons Robert, Dan, Patrick, and Thomas Drinkall, her daughters Donna Drinkall and Deborah Lavoie, her dear Son-In-Law Rejean Lavoie, her 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
In 1947 she married Jim Drinkall and for the next twenty years worked at raising a family of 8 children. Billie always enjoyed hosting large family gatherings and holiday dinners. In 1969 she moved to Vancouver to be with her Mother and lived there until she returned to Alberta in 2003, when she moved to Edmonton and into her beloved apartment at Meadowcroft.
Billie had an infectious sense of humour and could find a joke for any occasion. She had a love of reading that continued even after losing her eyesight and had to turn to audio books. She will be forever remembered for her indomitable spirit, strong will, and generosity.
At Billie’s request there will be no funeral; interment will take place in the spring of 2018 in Calgary at Queens Park Cemetery.
