BJORGUM, Marian

It is with loving hearts and sadness we announce the death of our dear mother and Mummum, Marian Beryl Bjorgum (nee. Haggerty).

She was born in Stettler, Alberta, on June 4, 1930, and passed away in Edmonton on August 18, 2022, at the notable age of 92.

Marian was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Lee Bjorgum, her loving parents, John and Autumn Haggerty, and her dearest sister Lois Gaither of Vancouver, Washington. Also, her grandparents Stella and Elmer Smith and Mary and John Haggerty.

She is survived by her children; Jon Bjorgum and Sandy Penrose (Lorna Bjorgum), Lyndel and Dave Donald, Sharlene and Byron Norman, Glenise McGinley, and Pam Antoniuk. In addition, she leaves to mourn 17 cherished grandchildren and 19 great-grands (and counting), plus many friends and relatives.

Marian had a passion for books, teaching, and family. She was an enthusiastic sports fan and a world traveller. Many knew her as kind, intuitive, quick-witted, and classy. A consummate crossworder, puzzler, a fashionista, a renowned baby whisperer, and best known as the Queen of Pumpkin Pie!

An intimate family gathering, at a later date, will be held to honour her life and memory. The family welcomes, in lieu of flowers, a donation to a library of your choice.

A special thank you goes to the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre of Edmonton for their care and compassion.
