It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Ron after a long fight with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, at the age of 52. Ron passed away on July 9, 2022, at the Roozen Family Pilgrims Hospice Centre.
Ron was a son, father, husband, nephew, and a friend to many.
Ron will be forever loved and remembered by his two amazing boys, Cole and Keaghen; his wife Rhonda; and his dad Oscar and Lottie. As well as by many others, including uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
Ron was predeceased by his mom, Adele Birkoben (nee Stabel), at the age of 16.
Ron loved to spend time traveling and camping with his family and friends, playing pool and poker, and he loved sports and catching a movie. Over his 52 years of life, Ron created memories, friendships and bonds that will continue to last a lifetime for those of us that have been blessed to have known and loved him.
The family wishes to thank all the staff and volunteers at Pilgrims Hospice for their amazing and continued care and support for not only Ron but for all his family and friends. Their dedication and commitment to all that passed through the front doors did not go unrecognized.
The Pilgrims Hospice Society relies heavily on donations to provide compassionate care for individuals living with a terminal illness, enhancing dignity and quality of life, until the end of life.
In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation may be made in Ron’s name to Pilgrims Hospice Society, 9808 – 148 Street, Edmonton AB, T5E 3E8
We will be celebrating and remembering Ron on July 28th at 11:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church at 10014 – 81 Ave NW, Edmonton, where he was baptized, confirmed, and married.
