With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Bill, with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 85. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen, his children, David (Trudy) Linda, Douglas (Soraya) and Lee-Ann (Jeff), eight grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his brother Douglas (Lorna), sister Marina Vettergreen (Frank), brother-in-law Art Jones (Judy), sister-in-law Olive Thomas (Rick). Predeceased by his parents Fred and Dorothy Simmonds. Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Edmonton will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, the Edmonton Humane Society or charity of one’s choice.
