Betty Jean Finnman

Betty passed away after a short but difficult battle with brain cancer at the age of 71.

She fought her illness with great courage, and she was unfailingly cheerful throughout her struggles. She is now home with her Lord Jesus and is at perfect peace. Betty was a wonderful Mom, Grandma, Sister, Auntie and friend to many. She will be sorely missed.

She is survived by three sons Craig (Rhonda), Marvin and Ross (Melinda); her much loved grandchildren Andrew, Ashley, Cole, Titus, Annika and Liam; her daughters-in-law Deanna Finnman and Sheila Finnman; her sister Linda (Bill) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Rod Finnman in 2011.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am on Saturday March 30, 2019 at Sherwood Park Alliance Church, 1011 Clover Bar Road, Sherwood Park, AB, with refreshments to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty’s honour to Gideons Canada, [email protected]

Sylvia & Don Massig

We were so sorry to hear the news about your Mom and regret not being able to attend the celebration of life service you held in her honour. We extend our sincere condolences to your whole family. Your Mom and I (Sylvia) spent a lot of time talking about our families and keeping each other updated. She had the gift of hospitality and always made new friends feel special when she met them. May God bless each of you as you continue to honour the legacy your parents passed on to you.

Betty became a dear friend through our widow to widow group in Sherwood Park. We spent time together in California at close resorts and she showed me around the area introducing me to many wonderful Christian events. We also roomed together at our ladies’ retreat and shared our prayer concerns.
She loved her family dearly, spend valuable time with her grandchildren and had a heart for widows. Her love of Jesus was very evident in her life. Betty will be missed.
My condolences to her precious family in the loss of their mother and grandmother.
