October 2, 1943 to July 21, 2022

On July 21, 2022, we said good-bye to a wife, a mother (Mom), grandmother (Oma) and great-grandma (Ur Oma). Rosaline Betke passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

We honor and remember her for her great courage to stand and face the adversities of life, the strength to fight the good fight of faith, the boldness to declare the goodness of God no matter what came her way, the joy she expressed over even the smallest of victories – to God she gave all the glory. God gave her the desire of her heart – to celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary. To see the absolute joy and happiness on her face was priceless! And then – she said good-bye and Jesus took her home. Well done good and faithful servant of the Lord – you finished the race and have now entered into the joy of the Lord that lasts for all eternity!

Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her spouse: Heinrich (Hank) Betke, her children: Rosa-Leah Ritzmann (Alfred), Karl Betke (Christina), Samuel Betke (Corinne) and Emil Betke; her grandchildren: Brian Wassing, Ashley Fehr (Daniel) and Kyle Betke (Jennifer); great-grandchildren: Matthew Wassing, Madison Wassing, Kennedy Wassing, Emma Fehr and Liam Fehr; her brothers: Ken Simon and Erwin Simon (Ann); her sisters: Violet Lemke, Gladys Lowell (Bruce), Lil Berube, Marlene Kennedy and Brenda Simon and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

Her family expresses a deep appreciation for the care she received at the Cross Cancer Institute and in lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Cross Cancer Institute in her name.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 13, 2022 at Hope City Church located at 2225 66 St NW Edmonton AB T6K 4E6

The trial is over, the battle won, Rosaline is now free and at peace with her Lord and Saviour. Let us all rejoice and smile with her until we meet again. I shall still miss you and think of you often. Goodbye for a little while, my dear friend.

My favourite memory of my Auntie Rosaline is when we all went to stay at that horse ranch in BC where we rode horses in the mountains, got baptized in a hot tub and I received my first Cowboy Way bible. I can just imagine her saying while wagging her finger I need to dust it off more. LOL She is the only one who tolerated my humour so I named my first goat after her which made her giggle with joy when she found out. Rosaline’s smile always made me feel welcome when she greeted me, it lit up the whole room holding a special glow of love shining in her eyes especially when she looked at her husband. Their love for each other was palpable which isn’t often seen these days. May she now find peace in God’s loving arms. Sending our heartfelt condolences to Uncle Henry and the whole family. Grieve well and stay strong! Love from Marilyn, Garth , Alanna , and Chase Schiele.
She will be deeply missed and treasured by her sister Marlene Kennedy

Rosaline was the most caring and loving home care worker for our Mother when she lived in BC. We were blessed to call her our friend from that time until the present. Sending our sincerest sympathy to Hank and the entire family.
