BERNIER, Andrew Edward “Andy”

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Andy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Judy of almost 50 years; children Matt, Tammy and son-in-law Troy; granddaughters Alexandra, Madison and Rylee; sisters Sherron and Debbie; aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends and colleagues.

Andy proudly served for 31 years on the Edmonton Fire Department achieving the rank of Acting District Chief.  He also worked for 25 years at Safeway and for 12 years in his retirement at Pyramid Corporation.

Andy hunted, loved the outdoors, was active in wildlife and habitat conservation, loved travelling, gardening, helping his wife, reading, crosswords and various building and home improvement projects.  Andy used to say that as a fireman he was a jack-of-all trades and master of one.  Above all, Andy loved his family with a fierce pride and was always there for them.

In lieu of cards or flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca and the Edmonton Firefighters Burn Treatment Society at www.efbts.com.

A sincere thank you to the Grey Nuns Hospital, Drs. Rouget and Curtis of the Grey Nuns, and Dr. Gouda of Leduc.
