BAYLY, Wilma Edna (Muir)

Our beautiful lady passed away suddenly just hours after a positive result to a Covid test.  She had reached 101-1/2 years young, always smiling and full of sunshine.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Rob (Jude) Muir and her niece Joan (Bernie) Hermus.  Her memory will be treasured by her great-nephews and nieces Steve (Marian), Dan (Jackie), Jodi, Michael, Laura and Adam.  She will be missed by her great-great-nieces and nephews Monique (Cody), Tanner, Katlyn, Samara, Noah and Charlie Hope.  On her 100th birthday in 2019, she held her great-great-great-nephew Merrick Bradley.  All our Muir family enjoyed so much love and laughter with this wonderful lady and she will be forever missed.

She will also be missed by her precious Bayly family: her step-son Richard (Elaine) and step-daughter Arlene, together with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She shared many wonderful times with them both in BC and Alberta.

Wilma was predeceased by her beloved husband George, her parents Robert and Betty Muir, her brother Bob and sister-in-law Berta, her sister Lily and brother-in-law Dick, and her step-daughter Louise.

Our family is very grateful to the staff at Lifestyle Options in Leduc for the compassionate and loving care given to Wilma for over 7 years.  After several falls in recent months, Wilma was moved to Salem Manor as she required more nursing assistance.  We would like to thank the staff in C Wing for being there with her at the end.

My sincere condolences to Rob & Jude, and to Joan & Bernie, and to the entire Muir family. I have so many good memories of Wilma. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was always smiling. I remember enjoying her music and laugh. She was such a positive person and I will miss her.

Wilma was indeed and a grand lady as well as a patient and passionate teacher, I remember her fondly as my grade 2/3 teacher.

I am saddened to read of Wilma’s passing. I met her and Lily at Lifestyles as the girls new hairdresser., and then at Salem I was again doing Wilma’s hair. I enjoyed my time with both of them. I loved the stories Wilma told me about her family, friends, time teaching and the stories of her childhood. I will miss her…
