BARON, Raymond Roland

On December 18, 2020 Roland Baron went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He is having the reunion he’s been waiting for with his son Doug Baron (August 24, 1996).

He will be lovingly missed by Nancy, his wife of 66 years (July 24, 1954), 4 children; Brian (Brenda), Charlaine (Jerry), Valerie and Lloyd, 7 grandchildren; Ryan, Brittaney(Kevin), Jason(Chan), Sarah, Matthew, Zachary and Emma and one great grandchild; Liam Hankirk. He was predeceased by 13 siblings and his parents.

We want to thank all the Benevolence Long Term Care staff for their wonderful care of our Dad. They have worked tirelessly to keep Covid out of their facility for 9 months. They are tired and keep caring for all the residents, including Roly’s wife Nancy. We are eternally grateful to the Misericordia Hospital emergency staff for their care and compassion. Thankfully our father did not die alone. Nurse Kaitlyn was with him holding his hand as he took his last breath. Unfortunately family was not able to make it in time.

A celebration of Roly’s life will be held on December 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm but due to Covid only 10 people can be in attendance. Those who wish to join by virtual attendance may do so by viewing the livestream at https://distantlink.com/SerenitySG.html

For those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Roly’s name, donations will be graciously accepted by the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Crohn’s and Colitis Association.

With God’s Blessing,

The Baron Family

I just learned of Roly’s passing today. I’m sending my sincere condolences to his family. I had the extreme pleasure of caring for Roly during my time with Benevolence. I considered Roly one of my own family members, and we had many good laughs together. He truly was a wonderful, friendly man and always had a big smile on his face when I walked into his room! I’ll cherish our time together forever. He was one of my favourite people. Rest In Peace Roly. ❤️

We really appreciate being able to watch the service. We laughed, cried and remembered our own memories as well. Lloyd did such a great job. It is such a difficult time with Covid and Christmas. But know you have support from a far. Uncle Roly gave the best hugs in the world, squeezed the breath out of you in the best way possible! Our condolences.

My deepest condolence to the Baron family at this time. I had the honour of working with Rolly at McKinley. He had taught me so many things over the years.. Atleast heaven has a great furnace tech up there now.
