-

Anthony (Tony) Flatt passed away peacefully in Edmonton on Easter Monday, April 2, 2018.

Tony was born in Alexandria, Egypt, on March 30, 1922, to Captain Thomas Flatt and his wife Madeline. His family emigrated to the Fort St. John area when he was three. Tony met and married his future wife, Gwen, while he was in basic training in Kingston, Ontario, in 1941. After the war, they moved to Edmonton where they resided for the rest of their lives. After 72 years of marriage, Gwen passed away in April, 2014.

Tony is survived by his children: Tom (Wendy), Graham, and Shelley (Andrea); grandchildren: Sara, Alden (Alicia), Alanah (Bryan), Amber (Jarrett), and Alyssa (David); great grandchildren: Marcus, Brooklynn, Rylie, Ayla, Ainsley, Alyssa, and Levi; brother, Hilary (Win), and sister, Phil (Verne). Tony was a lifelong member of the Masons and an active volunteer in both St. Luke’s Church and the community; he will be sorely missed.

A Memorial Service will be held for Tony at 11:00 am, on Friday, April 20, at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 8424-95 Ave. Interment will take place later this year in Holmwood Cemetery near Monte Lake, BC.
