STANG, Anna Catherine
After a courageous battle with cancer Anna (Ann) Catherine Stang of Fort Saskatchewan passed away on March 2, 2014 at the age of 84.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Ed, daughter Marianne (Dean) Robertson of Calgary, Sons Tom (Marie) of Fort Saskatchewan, Jim (Lisa) of Sherwood Park, seven grandchildren and her brother Dan Sieben of Vernon, BC. Ann was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna Sieben, Sister Jeanette and Brothers Jim and Joe.
Ann was born on August 29, 1929 in Macklin, Saskatchewan and worked as the librarian at Our Lady of the Angels and Pope John Paul schools in Fort Saskatchewan during her career. Her love of painting helped Ann maintain a positive outlook during her battle with cancer and will live on in the art displays throughout the Fort Saskatchewan General Hospital which she was an integral part of arranging.
The family would like to thank Dr. Trent Dusang and Dr. Sandeep Kumar for the care and compassion they showed Ann during her journey. We would also like to say a special heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Ann’s life and mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004 101 St,¬†Fort Saskatchewan on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery. Those wishing to do so may pay their respects prior to the service.
